Buttermilk Biscuit Croutons

Serves:

1 batch

About the Recipe

Do we need another reason to love biscuits? I am not sure but here is one. Perfect on a salad with a fruity, tangy vinaigrette.

Ingredients

2C flour + more for rolling

3/4C buttermilk, ice cold

8Tbsp butter, frozen

1/2Tsp salt

1/2Tsp baking soda

1Tbsp baking powder

Preparation

1: Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit

2. Grate frozen butter on a cheese grater.

3: Whisk together flour, salt, baking soda, and baking powder in a large bowl.

4: Cut the butter into the flour until it is the size of a pea.

5: Add in the buttermilk and mix until just combined.

6: Add the dough to a floured workspace and roll it out, folding it on top of each other in 1/3s. Do this twice before rolling out into a square. Cut the biscuit dough into small squares.

7: Place the croutons on parchment paper and baking for 20-25 minutes or until just golden. How cute!
